Credit Report

Free Credit Report

You are entitled to a free copy of your credit report, at your request, from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies - Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion once every 12 months, as mandated by Congress in the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003. Access to the free reports was phased in across the country in 2005; every area was eligible as of September 1, 2005.

Frequency

You may order free reports from all three companies at the same time, or stagger your requests over the course of the year.

Obtaining Your Report

Each September begins the new year for ordering your free reports. You can order your reports online at www.annualcreditreport.com or by calling 877.322.8228, or by mailing a completed Annual Credit Report Request Form (available at www.ftc.gov) to Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.
