World Food Prize Building and Miss Spenser's Tea Room

An interesting day has been planned for you. The first stop will be viewing the beautiful restored Hall of Laureates room by room tour which is full of art and design and is located at the former Des Moines Public Library. This building is a special tribute to the Nobel Peace Prize winner and World Food Prize founder Dr. Norman Borlaug. Next you will be treated to a unique tea experience at Miss Spenser’s. While at Miss Spenser’s, there will be a presentation of the Downton Abby. This series is seen on Channel 11, Iowa Public TV and is very popular. The presentation has been getting rave reviews and I am sure you will find it fascinating. Following our tea experience, we will have time to view the gardens at Ted Lare Garden Center before returning home. The cost for the entire day is $105 all due and payable April 19, 2013. I do have a limited number that can join us on this delightful day.

You will want to grab a bite to eat before we leave Creston at 11:30 am as we head directly to Red Oak. Once we arrive in Red Oak, we will be able to tour two Victorian homes followed by a driving tour of Heritage Hill. There will be time for other activities before we enjoy dinner. Following dinner there we will see the performance of Fiddler on the Roof at the Wilson Performing Center which will top off our time in Red Oak. Trip includes deluxe transportation, admission to all sites, dinner, performance at the Wilson Performing Arts and gratuities. Cost for the trip is $95 all due and payable by May 15th.

Many have requested a repeat trip to enjoy the JERSEY BOYS and we were able to obtain tickets. The JERSEY BOYS is the 2006 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical about Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, four blue-collar kids. This musical will feature their hit songs "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Rag Doll," "Oh What a Night" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." Departure will be early afternoon, enjoying an interesting stop along the way with dinner prior to the performance at the Des Moines Performing Arts. Cost for the entire trip which includes deluxe transportation, admission to all events, dinner and gratuities, is $140, with $70 due by June 7, 2013. Balance is due July 18th.
