First National Bank in Creston and Afton was recently named a 5-star institution by Bauer Financial – the nation’s leading independent bank and credit union rating firm.
Bauer’s ratings are determined based on the institution’s capital ratio, profitability/loss trend, level of delinquent loans, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and regulatory supervisory agreements, among other criteria.
“This didn’t happen by accident,” said Randy Huewe, president of First National Bank. “This rating is a result of our staff’s dedication to good local decisions, responsive service, commitment to our community and, ultimately, doing the right thing – even when nobody is looking.”
Bauer Financial has been evaluating and rating banks since 1983. Bauer is a completely independent firm that does not get paid to rate any institution nor can any institution avoid its rating.
