DES MOINES – Two more glass plaques were added to the bank’s collection last week.

First National Bank in Creston and Afton won marketing awards for Best Social Media Campaign and Best of Show from the Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) at its annual marketing conference held April 27 at the Marriott in West Des Moines.

Both awards were a result of the bank’s “1K likes” social media campaign. First National Bank launched its official Facebook page in June 2016 and the goal of this campaign was to garner 1,000 “friends” by  Christmas.Photo of Kyle Wilson, employee at First National Bank

“The community has really fallen in love with us on Facebook,” said Kyle Wilson, marketing associate at First National Bank.  “I think that’s because you don’t see many sales pitches on our page. It’s a place where you’ll see positive news about our community, we’ll give you financial tips, we spotlight our great employees and we do some giveaway drawings, too.”

The Best of Show award was given to First National Bank for being the highest-scoring campaign from all six Best of Iowa categories for banks with assets less than $1 billion.  This year’s entries were judged by a panel from the Indiana Bankers Association. They selected the winners based on the campaign’s objectives, strategy, execution and results.

This year, the bank has set the goal of reaching 1,600 friends by year’s end. That said, First National Bank invites you to like their page at www.facebook.com/fnbcreston  in its quest to reach this target.

First National Bank in Creston and Afton is a full service community bank locally owned that specializes in commercial, ag and personal banking. First National Bank has offices in Creston and Afton with assets of $241 million.
