FNB partners with Shazam to deploy new fraud messaging system

Keeping your account safe and secure is our highest priority at First National Bank in Creston and Afton.

So, we've partnered with Shazam, our debit card processor, to implement a new fraud management messaging system to protect your card against fraudulent activity.

You'll soon begin receiving free* text fraud alerts on your cell phone when any suspicious activity is detected on your First National Bank debit card.

Image of security iocnIf you receive a "fraud alert," reply YES or NO to confirm or deny the activity.

  • If you reply "no" (meaning the activity is fraudulent), Shazam will automatically block your debit card to prevent any additional fraud and you will quickly receive a follow up call from a Shazam fraud specialist that will help you protect your account.

  • If you reply "yes" (the activity was legitimate), you can continue to use your debit card as normal.

All text alerts will come from this short code: 72718

If you don't reply to the text message, Shazam will try to reach you through an automated voice call. That call will come from 855-219-5399.

Please save both of these numbers above in your contacts on your phone so you don't miss any alerts. Also, please make sure our bank has your current contact information on file so fraud messages can be sent to you.

If you have any questions with this new service, please call First National Bank at 877-782-2195. After hours, you can contact Shazam at 1-866-508-2693 or 1-855-219-5399.

* Standard text messaging fees may apply. Contact your mobile service provider for more details.
